Star comedian and host Bharti Singh and her husband, writer-producer and host Haarsh Limbachiyaa, are celebrating Janmashtami 2025 with double the joy this year, dressing up their two young sons — Laksh (Gola) and Yashveer (Kaju) — as little Krishnas for the occasion. The couple, who co-host the entertainment show Indian Game Show with Bharti and Harssh, shared how parenthood has made the festival even more meaningful for their family.

Bharti's Janmashtami Moment

Bharti described Janmashtami as one of her favourite festivals, one that fills the home with 'excitement, devotion and family time.' Since the birth of her elder son Gola, she has looked forward to dressing him as little Krishna every year. With the arrival of Kaju, that tradition has grown sweeter.

'For me, Janmashtami has always been one of the happiest festivals because it fills the house with so much excitement, devotion and family time. Ever since Gola was born, I wait for this day to dress him up as little Krishna, and now with Kaju, my heart feels twice as full. Watching my two little Krishnas smile, play and celebrate together is a memory I want to cherish forever,' she said.

The family also holds a homemade Dahi Handi celebration, with everyone joining in enthusiastically. Bharti said she believes festivals become truly meaningful when children experience them within the family and grow up understanding the stories and values behind the traditions.

Haarsh on Passing Down Traditions

Haarsh echoed the sentiment, emphasising the importance of introducing children to Indian festivals from an early age — not merely as calendar occasions but as living traditions with cultural depth.

'Janmashtami is one of those festivals that brings so much joy, energy and warmth into the home. I feel it is important that our children grow up knowing about all our festivals and understanding the beautiful traditions behind them, rather than just celebrating them as occasions,' he said.

He added that the family brings a handi home and stages their own Dahi Handi celebration, dressing Gola as little Krishna before the handi is broken. With Kaju now part of the picture, there are, in his words, 'two little Bal Krishnas in our house.'

Festive Spirit Extends to the Show

The couple also brought the Janmashtami spirit to their professional lives this year, incorporating a special festival-themed game into Indian Game Show with Bharti and Harssh. Haarsh described playing it on set as 'so much fun,' adding that it made the celebration even more exciting beyond the home.

The Family Background

Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa married in 2017. Their elder son Laksh, affectionately called Gola, was born on 3 April 2022. Their younger son Yashveer, nicknamed Kaju, arrived on 19 December 2025. The family continues to use both the formal names and the endearing nicknames interchangeably. As the boys grow, the couple says festivals like Janmashtami will remain the cornerstone of the cultural memories they hope to build for them.
