London, Aug 20 (NationPress) England is set to embark on a tour of Sri Lanka for a series comprising three ODIs and three T20Is in January-February 2026, forming a crucial part of their preparations for the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup.

The squad, led by Harry Brook, will kick off their tour with a trio of ODI matches scheduled between January 22 and January 27. This will be followed by three T20Is from January 30 to February 3. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced that Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) will reveal the match venues at a later date.

This series will provide England with essential experience of playing in subcontinental conditions as they aim to clinch their third Men’s T20 World Cup title, having previously won in 2010 and 2022.

It’s noteworthy that this marks England's first white-ball tour to Sri Lanka in over seven years. Their last visit in 2018 resulted in a 3-1 ODI series victory and a win in a one-off T20I. The last encounter between the two teams in a T20I was during the 2022 World Cup, where England defeated Sri Lanka by four wickets in the group stage, propelling them toward their title win at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Sri Lanka will next face a three-match T20I series in Zimbabwe, while England is set to host South Africa for the same number of matches starting on September 10 in Cardiff.
