Kolkata, Jan 8 (NationPress) A significant fire incident occurred at the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) office in the Siliguri district of West Bengal, resulting in the destruction of vital documents pertaining to Special Intensive Revision (SIR).

As per police reports, flames erupted unexpectedly at the SDO office located on Hill Cart Road in Mallaguri in the early hours of Thursday.

Consequently, two rooms within the SDO office were completely engulfed in flames.

Numerous computers and official documents housed in those rooms were also lost. Thankfully, due to the swift response of the fire brigade, a larger catastrophe was averted. It was reported that shortly past midnight, security personnel and nearby residents noticed thick black smoke emanating from one of the rooms.

The office's security team promptly began their efforts to extinguish the flames.

Authorities from the Pradhan Nagar Police Station and the Fire Department were quickly alerted. Two fire engines responded and arrived swiftly at the scene.
