Jaunpur, June 5 (NationPress) Women in Uttar Pradesh's Jaunpur are confidently moving towards self-reliance through the Central assistance under the “Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana - National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM)”. In alignment with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Shakti Rasoi scheme is revolutionizing lives by empowering women with sustainable employment opportunities.
A prime illustration of this change is Shakti Rasoi, a community kitchen wholly managed by women, located within the Collectorate premises of Jaunpur. Approximately a dozen women are running this venture under the NULM scheme, preparing and selling freshly made meals, snacks, and beverages.
Initiated in 2024, Shakti Rasoi is presently active in over 15 districts across Uttar Pradesh. The scheme has demonstrated remarkable success in its inaugural year, achieving sales exceeding Rs 2 crore. Motivated by this accomplishment, the state government plans to extend the initiative to an additional 25 districts in the forthcoming phase.
The entire operation of these kitchens is overseen by women. Participants receive training, access to bank accounts, and QR codes for digital transactions - ensuring the integration of modern tools and financial inclusion.
In a conversation with IANS, Shibi Shahu, director of Shakti Rasoi, expressed: “We formed a group of 10 women and received government support to launch Shakti Rasoi. We provide hygienic food, tea, and breakfast made from our own hands. This has become our source of income. We are thankful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for inspiring us to become self-reliant.”
Kiran, a team member at Shakti Rasoi, shared: “Previously, I operated a tiffin service from home. Since we started Shakti Rasoi under the Central government scheme, all the women in our group have been collaborating here. We appreciate the government for providing us with this platform.”
Prerna, another woman involved in the initiative, stated: “I used to offer tiffin services from home. Now, through Shakti Rasoi, we are earning significantly by delivering quality food and service. Many thanks to PM Modi for this chance.”
The Shakti Rasoi initiative under CM Adityanath’s leadership has not only created job opportunities but also empowered women with dignity and purpose. It serves as a testament to the fact that when provided with the right opportunities, women can transform not only their own lives but also positively influence the wider society.
