Mangaluru, June 9 (NationPress) A delegation from the BJP in Karnataka visited the local authorities in the communal flashpoint of Mangaluru on Monday, delivering a stern warning against the intimidation of Hindu activists and organizations purportedly instigated by the Congress-led state administration.

The delegation included significant figures such as State BJP President and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra, Opposition Leaders R. Ashoka and Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, former Chief Minister Sadananda Gowda, and other prominent party members, who convened with the Deputy Commissioner, Police Commissioner, and Superintendent of Police of Mangaluru district. Their discussions focused on the deteriorating law and order situation and the alleged persecution of Hindu activists.

Following the meeting, BJP President Vijayendra urged the authorities to resist the pressures from the Congress government and to cease the intimidation of Hindu workers. He stated, "We have instructed the local administration and police not to conduct midnight visits to threaten Hindu activists and organizations."

Vijayendra highlighted the escalating tensions in the coastal region, citing the murder of Hindu activist Suhas Shetty as a significant catalyst for their concerns. He emphasized that the atmosphere has significantly worsened, prompting their visit to consult with various leaders and organizations within the Sangh Parivar.

He charged that the ruling Congress government is using the police to engage in hooliganism under the guise of maintaining law and order. He reported that police have been visiting homes of Hindu leaders late at night, conducting intrusive actions and making threats.

"In certain areas like Sullia, leaders from organizations such as Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal, and Hindu Jagarana Vedike are being specifically targeted," he claimed while condemning the Congress regime.

Vijayendra recounted alarming incidents of police intimidation, including a case where a constable threatened a Hindu leader's family with a weapon. He further asserted that the rise in hooliganism correlates with the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) by the Congress government, which he accused of being aimed at targeting Hindu activists.

He criticized the state's handling of cases involving Hindu leaders, pointing out that while FIRs are promptly filed for incidents involving Muslims, there is a noticeable delay in addressing crimes against Hindu activists. He expressed concerns that the Congress government appears to be using the police as an extension of its political agenda.

Vijayendra stated, "The law and order situation has utterly collapsed. A recent report indicated that over 800 rape cases have been registered in the state." He noted that there is a growing perception that Hindus are being pressured to appease minority communities, leading to continued insults and the politicization of murder cases.

He cautioned that if this trend continues, the state's law and order could face a severe breakdown. He asserted that the government would be held accountable for any atrocities against Hindu activists and organizations.

In closing, he remarked that the Congress's establishment of a fact-finding committee, led by MLC B.K. Hariprasad, is part of a broader conspiracy to target BJP and Sangh Parivar workers in the coastal region, which has historically been a stronghold for the BJP.

Addressing the Suhas Shetty murder, he stated, "The involvement of burqa-clad women in this case has raised serious concerns, and there is a stark contrast in police response based on the community of the victim." He concluded by expressing gratitude to the Central government for taking over the investigation into Shetty's murder, indicating that foreign funding may have been involved in the crime.
