Bengaluru, March 6 (NationPress) Karnataka Congress MLA Rizwan Arshad expressed on Thursday that all parties implicated in the gold smuggling incident involving Kannada actress Ranya Rao will face justice.

While addressing the media at Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru, MLA Rizwan remarked, “It is quite alarming to discover that the daughter of an IPS officer is linked to smuggling activities. Some assert that she is his stepdaughter. Nonetheless, the government is treating this issue with utmost seriousness, and we will guarantee a comprehensive investigation, revealing the facts and identifying all participants.”

“Anyone involved, whether a common individual or a powerful figure, will be held accountable, and we will maintain complete transparency throughout this process,” emphasized MLA Rizwan Arshad.

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) apprehended Kannada actress Ranya Rao after confiscating 14.8 kg of gold from her at Bengaluru International Airport on Monday night.

The actress was detained at the airport upon her return on an Emirates flight from Dubai. DRI officials had been tracking her activities due to her frequent travels to Dubai, and she is currently in judicial custody.

In response to External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar’s declaration that Pakistan vacating Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) would settle the Kashmir issue, MLA Rizwan said, “I would be elated if Jaishankar claims they will reclaim PoK. The Congress party would be thrilled if the current administration succeeds in integrating PoK with India.”

“That said, Jaishankar should also prioritize retrieving land seized by China in Ladakh. You are allowing our territory to be taken by China without voicing any objections, yet you are discussing reclaiming PoK. Please focus on reclaiming the territory occupied by China in the last three to four years. We believe it encompasses thousands of square kilometers. China is even constructing villages right on the Indian border and within Indian territory,” he added.

Discussing illegal immigrants from Pakistan and Bangladesh, he stated, “The government is taking illegal immigration very seriously. It was our government that identified illegal immigrants, including those from Pakistan, who have resided here for over four to five years. We have recognized them and are taking necessary actions for their deportation as per the law.”

Addressing BJP MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal, he remarked, “All these immigrants settled in Karnataka during the BJP government’s term. When the Congress party came to power, we identified illegal immigrants from Pakistan and initiated deportation efforts.”

BJP MLA Yatnal had expressed concerns regarding illegal immigration from Pakistan and Bangladesh in the Assembly, cautioning that if left unchecked, Karnataka might end up like West Bengal.
