Keke Palmer Challenges Child Stardom, Reflects on Parenting
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Los Angeles, March 4 (NationPress) - Actress and singer Keke Palmer recently expressed a hint of envy towards her 3-year-old son, Leodis Jackson, who enjoys a delightful life filled with experiences.
During his time in Australia last fall, Leodis was often seen accompanying his mother on the set of ‘Spaceballs 2’, as reported by Variety.
At Leodis’ recent birthday bash last month, celebrities like Raven-Symone and Vic Mensa joined the festivities, indulging in face painting and bouncing in the inflatable house. Unlike typical toddlers who dress as Minions or current superheroes during Halloween, Leo chooses a more sophisticated approach, dressing as Bow Wow alongside Palmer as Snoop Dogg for their annual photo shoot in 2025. Their past costumes were inspired by ‘The Bride of Frankenstein’ and ‘Game of Thrones’.
According to ‘Variety’, Keke Palmer, 32, reflects on her own upbringing, stating, “As the baby matures, you begin to see how they live, and it leads you to wonder, ‘Why can’t I live like that?’” She chuckled, realizing the depth of her sentiment.
However, her desire isn't solely about the fame and fortune her son enjoys; it's about the love, care, and simplicity in his upbringing that she yearns for.
“You start noticing how you’re nurturing the baby, and then you realize, ‘I’m not giving myself the same love.’ The way this baby receives love and responds to it makes me recognize not only what I lacked but also what I must provide for myself,” she explained.
Palmer clarified that she doesn’t intend to criticize her parents’ parenting style. “I can’t go back to Sharon and Larry and ask, ‘Why didn’t you?’ That would be immature. Instead, I must acknowledge that whatever I needed but didn’t receive, I now have the ability to offer to my son—and to myself,” she concluded.
