Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Dharamshala, March 20 (NationPress) Laura Loomer, an American activist known for her far-right views, had a significant meeting with the Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, in Himachal Pradesh, recognizing him as a symbol of peace, compassion, and wisdom on a global scale.
In her post on social media platform X, Loomer expressed, “Today, I had the profound honour of meeting His Holiness the Dalai Lama, a global beacon of peace, compassion, and wisdom, and the spiritual leader of Tibet. I travelled all the way to His Holiness's private monastery in Dharamshala, India, a hillside city in Himachal Pradesh where the Tibetan government-in-exile resides.”
Reflecting on the meaningful encounter, she highlighted the Dalai Lama’s unwavering dedication to non-violence and principles that are especially relevant in our current global climate.
“In a world rife with division and chaos, meeting the Dalai Lama was genuinely uplifting. His serene demeanor, profound insights on inner peace, and steadfast commitment to non-violence made a lasting impression on me. It’s remarkable that at the delicate age of 90, the Dalai Lama continues to stand resolute against threats to freedom and human dignity, values that are crucial in these challenging times,” Loomer remarked.
She underscored the Dalai Lama’s bravery in addressing challenges posed by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), stating, “Encountering someone who has devoted his life to fostering harmony and serving others while facing immense hurdles from the CCP reminds us that true strength is rooted in kindness, compassion, resilience, and moral clarity.”
Loomer described this meeting as a “rare and impactful experience” that she will treasure forever. “May the Dalai Lama’s message of compassion and service to others continue to inspire us all,” she concluded.
Recently, at a news conclave in New Delhi, Loomer cautioned the United States against strengthening its ties with Pakistan, claiming that the country is associated with global terrorism.
“The largest export from Pakistan is Islamic terrorism, and I don’t believe the US should be forming close relations with the Pakistani government,” she asserted.
During the same event, Loomer addressed backlash regarding previous controversial posts on 'X' that contained offensive remarks about Indians, which resurfaced online as she arrived in India for the conclave.
When asked about the controversy, Loomer acknowledged that some of her previous comments were inappropriate.
“I recognize that some of the things I expressed in those tweets were not suitable,” she admitted.
