Patna, June 20 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a dynamic public rally in Bihar's Siwan district on Friday, launched a fierce critique against the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and its leadership regarding the perceived disrespect shown to B.R. Ambedkar during the birthday festivities of RJD national president Lalu Prasad Yadav.

While refraining from directly naming Lalu Yadav, PM Modi denounced what he termed the RJD leadership's shamelessness for failing to apologize to the nation for the incident.

“These individuals have been the champions of hooliganism, mafia rule, and corruption. How did the RJD members treat Baba Saheb's image? Posters have been displayed demanding an apology for the insult to Baba Saheb, yet these individuals will never acknowledge their wrongdoing,” the Prime Minister stated, addressing a large audience in Siwan.

He further remarked, “By disrespecting Baba Saheb, these individuals see themselves as superior to him.”

Shifting his attention to the broader performance of previous administrations, PM Modi held both the Congress and RJD accountable for plunging Bihar into “lawlessness”, “poverty”, and “mass migration”.

“Those with the lantern and hand speak of family support and development. However, it was this very alliance that brought Bihar the disgrace of jungle raj,” PM Modi explained.

He reminisced about the turbulent pre-NDA era, stating, “Our youth have only heard of the 20-year horrors as mere stories. They are unaware of the true nature of jungle raj. The hand and lantern symbolized a time that forced Biharis to leave their homes in search of basic dignity.”

He commended the fortitude of Bihari citizens, asserting that despite adversity, they have never compromised on their self-respect.

PM Modi indicated that the plundering and misgovernance of prior governments entrenched poverty in the state.

“The individuals with the hand and lantern together tarnished Bihar's pride. They looted so extensively that poverty became a lasting plight of this land,” he added.

The Prime Minister's pointed remarks arise during a period of heightened political tensions and just ahead of pivotal state elections.
