New Kendriya Vidyalaya and Six Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas to Be Established in Assam, Says CM Sarma

Guwahati, Dec 6 (NationPress) The Central government has made the decision to set up one Kendriya Vidyalaya and six Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas throughout different areas of Assam, as stated by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday.
The new Kendriya Vidyalaya will be located in Jagiroad, within the Morigaon district.
In a message on X, CM Sarma expressed: “A significant boost to School Education in Assam! I am immensely thankful to the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi Ji for the Union Cabinet’s resolution to start one new Kendriya Vidyalaya in Jagiroad along with six new Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas in Sonitpur, Charaideo, Hojai, Majuli, South Salmara-Mankachar, and West Karbi Anglong districts. My sincere thanks to Shri @dpradhanbjp.
In addition, to enhance the educational framework within the state, the Assam government has introduced an ambitious initiative to construct 700 modern leader schools.
A senior official explained that this groundbreaking measure aims to elevate educational standards and provide students with access to advanced learning tools.
“This project focuses on creating transformative educational environments through cutting-edge technology, modern infrastructure, and skilled management. These schools will aim for academic excellence, foster skill development, and offer a nurturing educational atmosphere,” the official stated.
Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu emphasized that the state government intends to promote digital classes alongside traditional teaching methods. He revealed that the education department’s digital attendance system will be used to reduce dropout rates across the state.
He remarked, “As the academic year resumed after a one-month hiatus, I addressed the teachers virtually. I wished them success in the forthcoming days.”
The minister indicated that the education department is committed to advancing digital education in schools.
“We have resolved to emphasize teaching through digital means. Most schools in Assam are equipped with smart classrooms and uninterrupted internet connectivity. These resources will be leveraged to provide students with exposure to digital education,” he added.
