New Delhi, Aug 2 (NationPress) The Election Commission of India (ECI) announced on Saturday that during the initial 24 hours of the claims and objections process for the draft voter list in Bihar, no political party submitted any claims or objections regarding the inclusion or exclusion of electors' names.
"From August 1 (3 p.m.) to August 2 (3 p.m.), all political factions collectively submitted a total of 'zero' claims and objections concerning the addition of eligible electors and the removal of ineligible ones," the electoral commission stated.
To facilitate this process for the residents of Bihar, special camps have been established at all Block-cum-Circle Offices and Urban Local Body Municipal Offices, operating daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. until September 1, 2025.
The commission highlighted that on the inaugural day of the Bihar CEO's special campaign – initiated on August 1 to encourage the registration of eligible young voters turning 18 between July 1 and October 1, 2025 – a total of 3,223 young electors completed their forms along with the declaration.
The ECI also urged all eligible voters to submit their updated photographs to their BLOs by September 1, as new Identity cards will be issued to all qualifying electors.
For claims and objections regarding the inclusion of eligible voters, the ECI has distributed a list to all political parties outlining those electors who were present in the June 24 Electoral Roll but are not included in the August 1 draft Electoral Roll.
The ECI mentioned that 1.60 lakh Booth Level Agents (BLAs), appointed by the District Presidents of all 12 political parties, are actively participating in the initiative.
According to the Special Intensive Revision order, after the Enumeration Phase concluded from June 24 to July 25, the draft Electoral Rolls were released for Bihar on Friday.
The draft Electoral Rolls for all 90,712 polling booths across 243 Assembly Constituencies were shared with all political parties by the 38 DEOs of Bihar on August 1, 2025.
