New Delhi, June 4 (NationPress) President Droupadi Murmu on Wednesday honored 92 senior armed forces personnel with the Distinguished Service Awards during the Defence Investiture Ceremony-II at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The distinguished recipients, comprising both active and retired members from all three military branches, included 30 individuals awarded the Param Vishisht Seva Medal (PVSM), the premier accolade for exceptional service in peacetime, alongside five individuals recognized with the Uttam Yudh Seva Medal (UYSM), the second-most illustrious honor for service in times of conflict.
The remaining 57 personnel received the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM), which is the secondary honor for remarkable service during peaceful periods.
Notable attendees included Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
Among the PVSM recipients were influential figures such as Lt General Manoj Kumar Katiyar, Lt General Dhiraj Seth, Lt General Anindya Sengupta, and Lt General Devendra Sharma. The newly appointed chief of Andaman and Nicobar Command, Lt General Dinesh Singh Rana, also received this honor, along with the chief of Northern Command, Lt General Pratik Sharma, and distinguished naval officers Vice Admiral Sanjay Jasjit Singh and Vice Admiral Suraj Berry, among others.
