Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, Feb 27 (NationPress) The global sensation Priyanka Chopra Jonas has shared insights into a profound promise made by her husband, the American pop star Nick Jonas, prior to their marriage.
During a conversation with Jay Shetty on his podcast, Priyanka disclosed that Nick has remained true to the vows he made even years after their wedding.
She recounted that when Nick sought her mother's blessing for marriage, he made a touching commitment.
She mentioned: “When he (Nick Jonas) asked my mom for my hand in marriage, he said, I promised your mom that I’ll always ensure you are happy. That’s going to be my mission, your happiness. And I will consistently remind you how much you are loved.”
Priyanka pointed out that such promises can be easily made amidst wedding bliss, but what holds weight is maintaining them in daily life. According to her, Nick has consistently demonstrated his love.
“You can say that, like when you just get married. But to uphold it,” she emphasized.
She also revealed that she maintains a “memory drawer” filled with cherished handwritten notes and cards.
“To make sure he expresses his feelings, I have this memory drawer where I keep cards. I adore the cards that people write me. I treasure handwritten notes,” she shared.
Recently, while organizing the drawer, she stumbled upon various letters that Nick had penned for her throughout the years.
“As I was sifting through my cards, all mixed up, I found all these letters Nick has written to me over time, and I was reading them. From the very start, he always reminded me that something as simple as telling your loved ones you love them makes a significant impact.”
The couple first crossed paths at the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty, where Nick expressed his feelings for the Bollywood star. Their first public appearance as a couple was at the Met Gala, and in 2018, rumors of their romantic involvement began to circulate.
Nick proposed to Priyanka on her birthday in July 2018, in London, and she eagerly accepted. They wed in December 2018 at Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, holding both Hindu and Christian ceremonies.
The couple welcomed their daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas, in January 2022 through surrogacy. They later shared that Malti Marie was born prematurely and spent over 100 days in the NICU before returning home.
