Jaipur, Aug 14 (NationPress) Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma visited the Border Security Force’s (BSF) Kodewala outpost located in Khajuwala, Bikaner on Thursday, just ahead of the 79th Independence Day celebrations. He extended his warm greetings to the BSF personnel and commended their unwavering commitment, calling them “guardians of the nation’s frontiers” who serve with remarkable valor, courage, and strength across diverse terrains, from icy valleys to scorching deserts.
CM Sharma pointed out that the BSF stands as one of the largest and most disciplined border security forces globally, dedicated to protecting the nation while fighting against crimes such as smuggling and infiltration.
He assured that the Rajasthan government is dedicated to providing essential facilities for BSF personnel and their families.
Addressing the soldiers, he reflected on BSF’s historic contributions to securing India’s borders since its establishment on December 1, 1965, highlighting its exceptional performance during the 1971 India-Pakistan war and its success in counter-terrorism operations like Operation Sindoor.
The Chief Minister also applauded BSF’s social initiatives, which include campaigns raising awareness about the negative effects of drugs, combating social evils, and motivating local youth to join the force.
He commended their recent environmental efforts, notably the planting of 6.5 lakh saplings in desert areas to enhance the ecosystem.
Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiatives such as Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao, and Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam, CM Sharma shared that the state government has launched Mission Hariyalo Rajasthan.
This year, a total of 9.12 crore saplings have been planted against a goal of 10 crore.
CM Sharma acknowledged the Prime Minister’s significant steps towards modernizing and ensuring the self-reliance of India’s paramilitary forces, while also enhancing infrastructure and connectivity in border regions.
He emphasized that women personnel in the BSF are equally committed and serve alongside their male counterparts.
