Jaipur, July 9 (NationPress) The government of Rajasthan is set to host Guru Vandan events throughout the state on the sacred day of Guru Purnima this Thursday, aiming to pay homage to esteemed spiritual mentors, including gurus, mahants, and priests.
As part of this initiative, a ceremony will take place in every Assembly constituency to honor these religious figures.
This initiative has been launched under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma.
Following the instructions from the Chief Minister, each honored religious leader, mahant, and priest will receive a felicitation amount of Rs 2,100, accompanied by a coconut, a shawl, sweets, and a special Guru Vandan message.
The ceremonies will be attended by Ministers, MLAs, district collectors, and other designated officials.
Chief Minister Sharma conveyed warm wishes to the residents of Rajasthan, stating, "Guru Purnima is a tribute to the eternal Guru-Shishya tradition, reminding us to show our deep respect and gratitude towards our Gurus."
He further added, "The Guru Vandan initiative symbolizes our sincere appreciation for the priceless guidance provided by our Gurus. This effort will enhance our Sanatan Guru-Shishya parampara."
On Wednesday, Chief Minister Sharma was greeted warmly at Poonchri ka Lautha in Deeg district.
During this event, Minister of State for Home Jawahar Singh Bedham, Chairman of Rajasthan Heritage Authority Omkar Singh Lakhawat, and various public representatives and administrative officials presented floral bouquets to the Chief Minister.
Chairman of the Vedanta Group, Anil Agarwal, was also in attendance.
Last year, Chief Minister Sharma initiated the Guru Vandan programme to pay tribute to Gurus on Guru Purnima, honoring the age-old Guru-Shishya tradition.
During his visit to Poonchri ka Lautha, he honored Gurus along the Giriraj Ji Parikrama Marg in Deeg.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister performed Abhishek at the Shrinathji Temple and later fed gram (chana) to monkeys.
Moreover, Chief Minister Sharma conducted a milk abhishek at the Shrinathji Temple in Poonchri ka Lautha and honored the Gurus by providing them with clothing.
