Jaipur, Sep 13 (NationPress) Rajasthan's Education and Panchayati Raj Minister, Madan Dilawar, surprised both students and staff at the PM Shri Government High School in Viratnagar with an unexpected visit during the morning prayer.
Post-prayer, the Minister scrutinized the staff attendance register and uncovered alarming irregularities.
Out of 29 teachers, only 19 were present, while 10 were absent despite their attendance being marked the previous day.
The school's principal, Anil Kumar Deoria, was on medical leave due to gallbladder surgery, and another teacher was also on medical leave.
However, the reason for the absence of the other teachers remained unknown.
Upon inquiring about the students' attendance register, Minister Dilawar learned it was locked in a cupboard because the class teacher was on leave.
Additionally, all cash books for the school were reported to be at the principal's home, a fact confirmed via phone.
The Minister also discovered that free textbooks received on August 23 had yet to be distributed to students.
