Jaipur, Nov 24 (NationPress) The division bench of the Rajasthan High Court has issued notices regarding the state government's appeal against the single bench's ruling that annulled the Sub-Inspector (SI) Recruitment Examination 2021. The bench, led by Acting Chief Justice S.P. Sharma, has sent notices to the petitioner, Kailash Chandra Sharma, and others, with the next hearing scheduled for January 5.
In its appeal, the state government asserted that the entire recruitment process should not be undermined due to the actions of a few individuals. The government claimed that the leaked question paper from one examination center reached only a limited number of candidates, while another allegedly leaked paper at the RPSC level was circulated among a select group, including the children of certain members and associated brokers.
The government highlighted that the leaked papers “were not distributed across Rajasthan,” and thus the entire recruitment process should remain valid. It further argued that annulling the recruitment would adversely affect thousands of honest and deserving candidates who were not involved in any irregularities.
It proposed that if investigative agencies can identify the candidates involved in the wrongdoing, the court should not cancel the entire examination. The single bench had previously voided the SI recruitment on August 28.
The state government had a 60-day period to appeal before the division bench, but it approached the court after the deadline had passed, requesting a condonation of delay.
