Mumbai, Sep 9 (NationPress) The renowned Bollywood actor Salman Khan is balancing his schedule between filming for ‘Bigg Boss 19’ and his anticipated movie ‘Galwan’.
On Tuesday, the star took to Instagram to unveil a behind-the-scenes image from the movie set. The snapshot captures Salman peeking through a clapperboard, with the 86th scene marking a close-up of his first take.
In the image, Salman is attired in combat fatigues, including a jacket adorned with insignia and layers from the older Personal Camouflage Disruptive Pattern Material (PC DPM). This attire is fitting as the film delves into the Galwan stand-off that occurred between 2020 and 2021. The PC DPM has since been replaced by the New Battle Dress Uniform (NBDU) of the INCAM (Indian National Camouflage).
Unveiled during the 74th Army Day Parade on January 15, 2022, the new uniform was developed in collaboration with NIFT.
The image also depicts a wound on the actor's side face, with the caption reading, “#BattleOfGalwan”.
The narrative centers around the Galwan stand-off between India and its expanding neighbor, China, which escalated on June 15, 2020, amid the initial wave of the Covid-19 pandemic in India.
During the conflict in the Galwan Valley of eastern Ladakh, Indian and Chinese troops engaged in a skirmish, marking a significant border standoff along the Line of Actual Control (LAC). The clash escalated into hand-to-hand combat as both forces sought to patrol disputed territories.
The confrontation led to the deaths of 20 Indian soldiers, with China also incurring losses. This incident was the deadliest face-off between India and China in over four decades, increasing tensions and prompting both countries to bolster troop deployments while engaging in diplomatic discussions to avert further disputes.
Currently, India and China have made strides toward mending their relationship, initiating multiple diplomatic channels as India grapples with tariffs imposed by the USA, a principal rival of China in the west.
