Sambhal: Court Receives Survey Findings for Shahi Jama Masjid

Sambhal, Jan 2 (NationPress) Amid the ongoing political turmoil surrounding the survey of Shahi Jama Masjid, the commissioner delivered the findings of the mosque's survey to Chandausi Court on Thursday.
The confidential report was presented by court commissioner Ramesh Singh Raghav, who arrived at the court to share it with the Civil Judge.
This survey report, approximately 45 pages long, contains photographs from the survey site, which the Hindu faction asserts was constructed above the ancient Harihar Mandir.
The assessment of Shahi Jama Masjid took place on November 19 and November 24. During the second phase of the survey, violence erupted in the vicinity, resulting in the tragic deaths of four individuals.
Clashes occurred between demonstrators and police forces due to the court-mandated survey of Shahi Jama Masjid.
Subsequently, the Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) for Sambhal reported that 50 individuals were arrested in connection with the unrest.
The survey was mandated by a Sambhal court through an advocate commissioner after accepting a petition from Hindu claimants, asserting that the mosque was erected by the Mughal conqueror Babur in 1526 following the demolition of Shri Harihar Mandir.
Recently, an eleven-member team from the Samajwadi Party (SP) visited the affected district to offer support to the families of the victims.
The delegation conveyed their condolences and provided financial aid amounting to Rs 5 lakh to the bereaved families in the form of cheques.
Later, in a press conference, Mata Prasad Pandey, opposition leader in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, criticized the state government, accusing it of being 'unsympathetic and disingenuous' towards minorities.
"This government shows no compassion for Muslims. Its agenda is to sow discord among communities, inciting animosity between Hindus and Muslims for political advantage," he stated.
The violence in Sambhal ignited on November 24 when a team from the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) arrived at Shahi Jama Masjid to evaluate the Mughal-era mosque.
