Mumbai, April 15 (NationPress) Hungama OTT is set to launch the eagerly awaited new chapter of its celebrated drama "Hasratein Season 2".
Featuring Sanam Johar and Dolly Chawla in lead roles, the first two episodes will premiere on April 17, 2025.
The anthology kicks off with its debut episode, Khushboo, a touching narrative of suppressed yearning and gentle rediscovery. Set against the picturesque backdrop of Puri, the series centers around Sunaina, a 32-year-old woman ensnared in a vacuous marriage. What begins as an ostensibly tranquil family getaway gradually evolves into a profound self-examination as she meets Viplav, a mysterious man who wanders the shoreline like an undiscovered secret.
Dolly delivers a nuanced and emotionally rich performance as Sunaina, a woman struggling to breathe under the weight of years filled with silence and stillness, while Sanam embodies Viplav, who aids Sunaina in recognizing the parts of herself she has lost.
Discussing his dynamic with Dolly, Sanam remarked, “Viplav is unconfined and doesn't strictly adhere to societal expectations. Dolly and I discovered a natural rhythm on set. There was a silent connection between us that made the pauses, the glances, and the tension feel incredibly authentic. Our chemistry was not based on grand gestures; it resided in the silences, the restraint, and the unspoken words. That emotional alignment is rare, enhancing the impact of Sunaina and Viplav’s journey.”
Sharing insights about her character, Dolly stated, “Sunaina is not merely trapped in a marriage. She is ensnared within herself. Portraying her required peeling back layers of fear and unvoiced longing. It was a raw and liberating experience for a character grappling with her existence. The emotional challenges were immense, yet profoundly rewarding. She reminded me of how many women lead half-existence, and how empowering it is when they begin to reclaim their lives.”
"Hasratein Season 2" will be available for streaming on Hungama OTT starting April 17, 2025.
