Mumbai, Oct 4 (NationPress) This year celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Star Parivaar Awards, creating a nostalgic moment for television enthusiasts, as Shweta Tiwari and Ronit Roy took to the stage to perform the beloved title track from the iconic series "Kasautii Zindagi Ki".
The duo, known for their roles as Prerna Sharma and Rishabh Bajaj, beautifully recreated the song – the title track “Chaahat Ke Safar Mein”, which originally featured Shweta alongside her co-star Cezanne Khan.
In a performance shared by Star Plus on social media, Shweta dazzled in a stunning red gown. This color choice resonated with fans, as red symbolized love and emotion throughout the show, notably represented by the recurring motif of a red dupatta.
During poignant moments between Prerna and Anurag Basu, the dupatta became a powerful visual symbol of their enduring love. “Kasautii Zindagi Ki” premiered in 2001 and enjoyed a successful run on Star Plus until 2008. Produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor under Balaji Telefilms, the series was directed by Santaram Verma, and quickly became one of the most cherished daily shows in Indian television history, lasting for seven years.
The narrative followed the lives of Prerna Sharma, portrayed by Shweta Tiwari, and Anurag Basu, played by Cezanne Khan. Their love story, fraught with separation, sacrifice, and obstacles, formed the backbone of the show. Ronit Roy later joined the cast as Rishabh Bajaj, a character who gained immense popularity and created a memorable on-screen chemistry with Prerna.
As the reunion performance garnered excitement, many fans expressed nostalgia for Cezanne Khan, who originally starred opposite Shweta in the title track.
Numerous viewers reminisced that the song was filmed with Prerna and Anurag, not Prerna and Rishabh, and voiced their wishes to see Cezanne reunite with Shweta, especially as he has been absent from the media spotlight for a while.
The series also introduced one of Indian television's most iconic antagonists, Komalika, portrayed by Urvashi Dholakia.
