Telangana CM Committed to Elevating Educational Standards

Hyderabad, Dec 14 (NationPress) Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy stated on Saturday that his administration is unwavering in its goal to improve educational standards.

He mentioned that the government aims to foster confidence among Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), Backward Classes (BCs), and Minorities.

The Chief Minister expressed that the government is dedicated to enhancing students' skills and involving them as partners in the reconstruction of Telangana State.

He unveiled a uniform diet plan for residential schools and welfare hostels throughout the state.

At the event held at TG Social Welfare Residential School in Chilkur, Rangareddy district, he announced the implementation of a uniform diet plan across all residential schools and hostels for SCs, STs, BCs, and Minorities.

Expressing concern over recent instances of food poisoning in residential schools and hostels, the Chief Minister urged staff to undertake their responsibilities with utmost diligence.

“A girl tragically passed away recently due to food poisoning. Her grieving parents have endured significant distress. Both the affluent and the less privileged love their children equally. Parents trusted us with their children’s safety in hostels. We must act responsibly,” he noted, calling for measures to avert similar occurrences.

The Chief Minister declared that he would visit residential schools during all his official tours in the state. He asserted that strict actions would be taken against those who neglect their duties.

He proposed the establishment of Mess Management Committees to empower students to oversee their daily meals.

Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, along with various ministers and senior officials, took part in the program conducted in multiple locations across the state. They planned to visit residential schools and hostels over the weekend and have lunch with the students.

The Chief Minister indicated that a new menu has been developed according to the increased diet charges.

He highlighted that for the first time in a decade, the government has raised diet charges in welfare hostels by 40 percent and cosmetic charges by 200 percent.

Approximately eight lakh students are enrolled in SC, ST, BC, and Minority residential schools across the state.

He noted that a misconception has persisted for several years, suggesting that students in private schools are superiorly talented compared to those in government institutions. “Our government is striving to dispel this illusion,” he stated.

Revanth Reddy credited former Prime Minister P. V. Narasimha Rao for initiating residential schools in united Andhra Pradesh. He mentioned that many individuals who studied in residential schools have ascended to roles as IAS and IPS officers.

The Chief Minister criticized the prior BRS government for neglecting essential amenities, diet, and cosmetic provisions in residential schools and hostels.

“As a government that serves the populace, we have significantly increased diet and cosmetic charges in one decisive move,” he remarked, asserting that such extensive increments are unparalleled across the nation.

He pointed out that there are 23 lakh students in 26,000 government schools within the state, while around 33 lakh are enrolled in 11,000 private schools.

He questioned why schools are not equipping students with diverse talents.

“Welfare and development are akin to two eyes for me. The funds allocated for students represent an investment in their future,” he emphasized, urging for proactive planning for the upcoming academic year.

The Chief Minister instructed officials to ensure timely funding for schools by the 10th of each month through a green channel. He also noted that the task of stitching school uniforms has been delegated to women’s Self Help Groups, with an increase in the uniform stitching fee from Rs 25 to Rs 75.

Revanth Reddy affirmed that the government is providing free electricity to all government schools and encouraged officials and public representatives to visit residential schools a few times weekly.
