Chennai, July 8 (NationPress) Following the successful introduction of coaching centres under the 'Naan Mudhalvan' scheme for UPSC candidates, the government of Tamil Nadu is broadening its initiatives to assist young individuals aspiring to succeed in other Central government competitive exams.
The state has unveiled plans to create residential training facilities in Chennai, Madurai, and Coimbatore for candidates preparing for the Staff Selection Commission (SSC), Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), and banking sectors. This initiative will be executed by the Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation (TNSDC) in partnership with private entities.
Officials have indicated that these centres will commence operations within three months to coincide with the timelines of upcoming recruitment examinations. Each of the three facilities will be designed to host 300 students, featuring four classrooms, each capable of accommodating 60 students.
The infrastructure will include a 100-seat auditorium, computer laboratories, study halls, library facilities, hostels, and dining areas, providing a holistic environment for both academic preparation and residential living.
A senior official from TNSDC noted that the centres will be outfitted with state-of-the-art educational tools, such as smart boards, LCD projectors, and audio-visual equipment. Moreover, there will be round-the-clock electricity supply with backup, high-speed Internet, and CCTV monitoring to ensure a safe and uninterrupted learning atmosphere.
“The training framework will integrate classroom instruction with self-study, doubt resolution sessions, mock examinations, and ongoing assessments,” the official elaborated.
“An expert committee will manage the selection of training partners through a transparent bidding process,” he added.
Each group of students will partake in a six-month intensive coaching program, crafted to align with the standards of leading private coaching institutions. The government has also launched a dedicated division for competitive exams under the Naan Mudhalvan scheme, specifically aimed at providing complimentary training and guidance for examinations conducted by central recruitment bodies like SSC, RRB, IBPS, and UPSC.
Officials mentioned that this initiative aspires to enhance Tamil Nadu's representation in Central government services by equipping talented youth from diverse socio-economic backgrounds with quality training and infrastructure. “This is more than mere coaching; it’s about empowerment and representation,” remarked a senior official.
