Mumbai, April 7 (NationPress) Actor Tusshar Kapoor, who is collaborating once again with Shreyas Talpade for the forthcoming horror-comedy film ‘Kapkapiii’, has referred to it as a homecoming.
The film is directed by Sangeeth Sivan, with whom Tusshar previously worked on ‘Kya Kool Hain Hum’. ‘Kapkapiii’ also features Sonia Rathee, Siddhi Idnani, Jay Thakkar, Varun Pandey, Dherendra Tiwari, Dinkar Sharma, and Abishek Kumar.
Discussing the film, Tusshar Kapoor mentioned, ‘Kapkapiii’ has a very realistic backdrop, and the characters are incredibly relatable. The horror aspect centers around a Ouija board, which is a theme not often explored in Hindi cinema. Sangeeth ji allowed his actors the freedom to improvise within the script's framework, adding depth and authenticity to our performances. For me, it was a nostalgic reunion after nearly 20 years since ‘Kyaa Kool Hain Hum’, a true homecoming.
The screenplay is crafted by Saurabh Anand and Kumar Priyadarshi, and the film promises to deliver spine-tingling moments interwoven with laugh-out-loud humor.
Shreyas Talpade expressed, “As the title suggests, ‘Kapkapiii’ is about goosebumps, particularly the kind felt just before fear fully sets in. It’s among the finest horror comedies by Sangeeth Sivan sir. I truly miss him. He should have been here today to celebrate the release of a film he was so passionate about. He was like a father figure to me, with remarkable filmmaking skills.”
Producer Jayesh Patel remarked, “Sangeeth ji had already delivered the completed first cut of the film, ensuring that what audiences will witness on screen is entirely his vision. I believe he is always with us, providing support and guidance. Following his untimely passing, this project became more than just a film; it became a collective commitment to realize his vision.”
“‘Kapkapiii’ is not your average horror-comedy; it’s wild, unfiltered, and rooted in characters that feel amusingly familiar. It plays with fear like a prankster with a flashlight in the dark — always unpredictable and slightly wicked,” he added.
The film is produced by Jayesh Patel and Umesh Kumar Bansal under the banner of Bravo Entertainment and is presented by Zee Studios. It is scheduled for release on May 23.
