Mumbai, June 6 (NationPress) In light of discussions regarding a potential alliance with his estranged sibling, Raj Thackeray, who is the founder of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), Shiv Sena UBT chief Uddhav Thackeray expressed on Friday that “Whatever Maharashtra has in mind will happen.”
While he refrained from sharing further specifics, the Shiv Sena UBT leader indicated that he would provide updates in the coming days. “I mentioned it in just one sentence; we are considering all aspects related to this matter. I won’t just send out a message but will deliver direct news. There is no ambiguity among my Shiv Sainiks. Therefore, my statement is that instead of sending messages, we will share whatever news is pertinent,” Uddhav Thackeray remarked.
His comments followed hours after Shiv Sena UBT MP Sanjay Raut informed the press that “Perhaps there had been a phone call between the two (Raj Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray) regarding an alliance.”
Raut stated, “The leaders are adopting a positive approach, and the workers are uniting. Given the encouraging cooperation on this issue, it is likely that the workers are finding common ground. The morale of the workers has surged due to the leaders’ positive stance. We are optimistic. Raj Thackeray is optimistic, and his team is optimistic. Uddhav Thackeray is optimistic. Since he is very positive, the workers from both factions must have come together, so why worry about that?”
He further mentioned, “The alliance process has already commenced. There is no need for a formal proposal between two brothers.”
Aditya Thackeray and Amit Thackeray, in separate remarks, indicated that both Raj Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray possess each other’s contact numbers. If they wish to form an alliance, they can simply reach out.
MNS leader Sandeep Deshpande noted, “Whenever we receive a concrete proposal for an alliance, Raj Thackeray will make a decision. Uddhav Thackeray mentioned that whatever is in the minds of the people of Maharashtra will unfold. However, there were sentiments in the minds of the people in 2014 and 2017 as well, but Uddhav Thackeray did not align with it. Thus, what matters is Uddhav Thackeray’s perspective.”
He added, “Uddhav Thackeray stated he will provide news. So, let’s wait and see what he reveals.”
Another MNS leader, Avinash Jadhav, commented, “If they (Shiv Sena UBT) take one step forward, Raj Thackeray will take 100 steps forward.”
Leaders from both factions are reportedly engaging through informal channels to forge an alliance, aiming to unite and capture the Marathi Manoos vote to challenge the BJP-led MahaYuti and gain control over the BMC, which is India’s richest civic body.
In related news, MNS office-bearer Vaibhav Dalvi on Friday joined the Thackeray faction. Furthermore, Sujata Shingade, who had previously left Thackeray for the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, has returned to Shiv Sena UBT.
