New Delhi, Oct 7 (NationPress) - The Chief Minister of Delhi, Rekha Gupta, remarked on Tuesday that the life and teachings of Maharishi Valmiki continue to motivate generations with their profound messages of compassion, equality, and the dignity of labor.
During the Valmiki Dalit Mahapanchayat, which took place in Trilokpuri to commemorate Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti, the Chief Minister emphasized that through his timeless masterpiece, the Ramayana, Maharishi Valmiki taught society that true strength arises from harmony and humanity.
“Maharishi Valmiki gifted the world the Ramayana, allowing us to explore the life and character of Lord Shri Ram in its entirety. His messages of compassion and equality remain relevant and continue to guide us today,” the Chief Minister stated.
The event saw participation from citizens, community leaders, and public representatives from various backgrounds, who expressed their views on Maharishi Valmiki’s philosophy and teachings. MLA Ravikant was also in attendance.
Addressing the teachings of the Ramayana, the Chief Minister stated that both Lord Shri Ram and Maharishi Valmiki illustrated how equality and compassion are the cornerstones of a fair society.
She mentioned, “Lord Shri Ram interacted with everyone, including Kevat, Nishadraj, Shabari, and the Vanar Sena - teaching us that advancement occurs only when all segments of society progress together.”
The Chief Minister further added that Maharishi Valmiki’s life exemplifies how anyone can reshape their destiny through self-awareness and discipline. “His existence was marked by profound reflection and service. He demonstrated that genuine religion is rooted in compassion, truth, and aiding others,” she noted.
In a related event, Delhi BJP President Shri Virendra Sachdeva offered prayers at the Shri Valmiki Temple on Mandir Marg and prayed for the prosperity of Delhi's populace.
Following the prayers, Sachdeva conveyed his greetings to the residents of Delhi on the occasion of Maharishi Valmiki’s birth anniversary and remarked that the Ramayana, authored by Maharishi Valmiki, introduces us to the divine essence of Lord Shri Ram.
He asserted that the way Maharishi Valmiki depicted Lord Shri Ram's life continues to serve as a source of inspiration and a model for all.
Sachdeva concluded by stating that Delhi is progressing on the path of development, promising that with the ongoing comprehensive efforts of the BJP government, this momentum will continue in every area.
