Bengaluru, Feb 13 (NationPress) The power and energy sector in India is experiencing a notable surge in hiring, with 63% of companies planning to boost their workforce in the latter half of FY25, as per a report released on Thursday.

This increase in hiring is primarily driven by the demand for skilled professionals in renewable energy, energy efficiency, and smart grid solutions.

Bengaluru is currently leading in job expansions, with 51% of employers increasing their workforce, trailed by Coimbatore and Bhopal at 50%.

In emerging job markets, Vadodara ranks first at 21%, followed by Vishakhapatnam at 17% and Bhopal at 15%, according to the report by TeamLease Services, a prominent staffing company.

The most in-demand roles in the power and energy sector include engineering positions, with 63% of employers actively seeking talent.

Sales professionals represent 61% of the hiring demand, while ICT (information and communication technology) specialists account for 48% of recruitment sentiments.

There is also a growing demand for key positions in renewable energy, energy efficiency consulting, and smart grid analysis to support clean energy initiatives and sustainability goals, as highlighted in the report.

Subburathinam P, Chief Operating Officer of TeamLease Services, stated that India’s power and energy sector is at a pivotal point, influencing the nation’s industrial and economic landscape while contributing to global sustainability efforts.

With a bold objective of achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2070 and sourcing 50% of its electricity from renewables by 2030, India is establishing itself as a leader in the global clean energy movement.
