New Delhi, Nov 18 (NationPress) The Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) announced on Tuesday that it has formalized a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Andhra Pradesh government to become part of the Amaravati Quantum Valley (AQV) initiative.
This initiative marks a significant step for Andhra Pradesh in paving the way for India's quantum technology future.
The AQV project encompasses collaborations at the state level, development of infrastructure, and training programs aimed at creating a comprehensive quantum ecosystem that integrates hardware manufacturing, software development, talent development, and research excellence.
In this collaboration, C-DOT intends to establish a Centre of Excellence (CoE) focused on quantum communication and security solutions, as well as related areas such as privacy enhancement technologies (PETs) within the Amaravati Quantum Valley.
C-DOT's emphasis will be on quantum communication solutions at the proposed centre at AQV. Their expertise in this area will provide vital resources and skill enhancement for emerging players in the Indian market.
This partnership will also facilitate research and development aligned with the National Quantum Mission (NQM), particularly in the realm of Quantum Security Solutions and PETs, ensuring adherence to the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) framework established by MeitY.
Moreover, it will concentrate on the cost-effective development of sub-components for quantum communication systems and create an integrated testbed for quantum security. This will bolster the AQV initiative, foster a quantum-safe environment, and enhance digital privacy and data protection across the nation, as stated by an official.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Nara Lokesh, the State Minister of IT, during the recent 30th edition of the CII Partnership Summit held in Visakhapatnam.
C-DOT stands as the leading telecom R&D center under the Department of Telecommunications, Government of India, dedicated to the design and development of indigenous telecom solutions and the deployment of cutting-edge communication technologies to fulfill the country’s strategic and socio-economic requirements.
