New Delhi, June 10 (NationPress) OpenAI's widely-used chatbot ChatGPT encountered a significant outage on Tuesday, affecting users globally, including those in India, who reported difficulties in loading and receiving responses to their prompts.

The organization noted that there are increased error rates and latency impacting users on various AI platforms.

"We are currently looking into the matter," stated the company. Approximately 88 percent of the complaints from India highlighted the chatbot's failure to respond to inquiries, while 8 percent experienced issues with the mobile application, and 3 percent faced API-related challenges.

Downdetector also recorded a surge in user-reported issues.

ChatGPT users quickly turned to X to determine the status of the AI service.

"Everyone is rushing to Twitter (now X) to check if ChatGPT is down for anyone else," shared one user on X.

"Now that ChatGPT is down, I actually have to write my own emails at work. Send prayers," another user commented.
