Mumbai, Nov 7 (NationPress) The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) announced that the forthcoming CII M&E Global Investor Meet is set to link international investors with India’s most promising ventures through specially tailored one-on-one meetings.
The CII unveiled this investor meet during the 12th annual CII BIG Picture Summit, scheduled for December 1-2 in Mumbai.
This initiative, developed in partnership with WAVES Bazaar, seeks to tap into the immense potential of India’s media and entertainment (M&E) sector by merging investments with companies to drive the upcoming growth phase, as per the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
WAVES Bazaar, a prominent platform for business networking and project presentations in the M&E industry, will incorporate its proven B2B meeting structure and project displays — showcasing initiatives from its ongoing projects and WAVES Film Bazaar — into the CII Marketplace during the summit.
The Summit, themed “The AI Era: Bridging Creativity and Commerce,” aims to unite leaders from both government and industry to outline a strategic plan for the advancement and evolution of India’s M&E sector.
This event is organized in partnership with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India. Sanjay Jaju, Secretary of the Ministry, and Gaurav Banerjee, MD and CEO of Sony Pictures Network India, will preside over the Summit.
This initiative is expected to stimulate both global and domestic investment into India’s rapidly growing M&E sector, encompassing film, streaming, gaming, animation, VFX, live entertainment, and beyond.
“Despite its rich legacy, India’s M&E industry has mainly thrived on private passion and capital. The CII Investor Meet marks a significant shift,” stated Shibashish Sarkar, Chairman of the CII Global M&E Investor Summit.
“For the first time, we’re uniting international investors with Indian M&E businesses in a curated, one-on-one format. This summit transcends being a standard expo; it’s a genuine matchmaking event designed to highlight Indian companies as attractive investment opportunities. I view this as the beginning of an exciting journey,” Sarkar further emphasized.
The Summit will also see participation from WAVEX and WAVES Creatosphere, fostering a vibrant atmosphere for start-up collaboration and business advancement.
