Dehradun, Nov 6 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami, announced on Thursday that the government’s initiative to train one lakh youth as 'CM Young Entrepreneurs' is yielding positive results, with many enrolling in innovative professions such as nature guide, drone pilot, and wildlife photographer.
During the Jan Van Mahotsav, CM Dhami emphasized the administration’s strategies for wildlife conservation and job creation, stating that significant progress has been made towards the goal of empowering one lakh youth as 'CM Young Entrepreneurs'.
The Chief Minister pointed out that sustainable development remains a cornerstone of the government’s agenda, saying, "Today's Jan Van Mahotsav symbolizes the profound connection between humanity and nature. True development occurs when it is aligned with nature, ensuring a crucial balance between ecology and economy."
Reflecting on the aspirations of the state's founders, he remarked, “On November 9, 2000, when Uttarakhand was formed, there was a vision of a harmonious state where nature, development, and culture coexist. Currently, over 70 percent of the land area is forested. As we celebrate 25 years of statehood, it is gratifying to see Uttarakhand progressing towards these foundational dreams.”
“Our administration is dedicated to wildlife conservation and will persist in these efforts. To safeguard nature, we are equipping the forest department with modern tools to enhance wildlife protection,” he stated.
“Motivated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we strive to maintain a balance between ecology, economy, and technology while advancing development alongside the conservation of our natural resources. Our initiatives have successfully increased the population of rare wildlife,” he added.
He urged public participation, stating, “I encourage tourists visiting jungle safaris or religious sites to prioritize cleanliness. Our small actions can lead to significant strides in environmental conservation.”
Focusing on the BJP government’s community-centric measures, he noted, "We have raised the compensation for human-wildlife conflicts from 6 lakh to 10 lakh. With forest fires becoming more common in summer, we have also increased the collection rate of pine needles, which contribute to these incidents.”
“We have established a state-of-the-art rescue center in Corbett National Park, akin to an 'ICU for wildlife', where animals receive treatment using modern equipment,” he concluded.
