New Delhi, Nov 10 (NationPress) On Monday, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal announced his meeting with a US business delegation led by Utah Senate President Stuart Adams. The discussions focused on potential collaborations across multiple fields, including artificial intelligence (AI), clean energy, minerals, academia, research, biotech, and more.
During the talks, Goyal emphasized the importance of strengthening ties in various sectors such as AI, clean energy, minerals, academia, research, biotech, aerospace, and advanced manufacturing. He took to X social media to share insights about the meeting.

Recently, the minister indicated that India is in advanced stages of negotiations for trade agreements with both the European Union (EU) and the US.
He remarked that India actively negotiates with developed nations, aiming for mutual contributions towards a Viksit Bharat, or developed India.
“Every agreement is built upon the comparative advantages that India holds in relation to its trading partners. It's not solely about tariffs. We aim to double our trade in goods and services with the US to $500 billion by 2030,” he added.
The US has placed a 25 percent penal tariff on India for importing oil from Russia, which adds to the 25 percent reciprocal tariffs on Indian products entering American markets.
India has labeled these tariffs as “unfair, unjustified, and unreasonable.”
“We are engaged in discussions with the United States. Our teams are in contact, and we recently had the commerce secretary visit the US to meet his counterparts. We are optimistic about progressing towards a fair and just agreement soon,” Goyal stated earlier.
Nevertheless, he reaffirmed that India will not hastily enter any trade agreement, striving instead for fair and equitable arrangements that do not limit its trading options.
