New Delhi, Oct 23 (NationPress) In order for India to emerge as a developed nation, embracing technological advancements is essential, and artificial intelligence (AI) stands out as a pivotal force in this evolution. To facilitate this transformation, inclusive frameworks must be established to ensure that individuals can access and derive meaningful benefits from AI, stated S. Krishnan, Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), during his address on Thursday.
At the Curtain Raiser event organized by MeitY to generate enthusiasm for its participation in the Emerging Science, Technology, and Innovation Conclave (ESTIC) 2025, Krishnan emphasized the significance of the event, noting that its theme, 'Artificial Intelligence for Social Impact,' is particularly relevant.
"This theme underscores our commitment to exploring how AI can genuinely influence society and shape our interactions with technology. India’s vision is unequivocal – we must regard AI as a positive force and utilize it in a transformative manner," Krishnan remarked.
Scheduled for November 3 - 5, 2025, at Bharat Mandapam, ESTIC 2025 is being organized by the Department of Science and Technology under the guidance of the Office of Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, showcasing groundbreaking advancements that will propel India’s innovation-driven growth, aligning with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
As part of ESTIC 2025, MeitY plans to conduct a specialized session on Artificial Intelligence for Social Impact on November 4, 2025, reinforcing India’s dedication to nurturing a responsible, inclusive, and transformative AI ecosystem.
This session will prioritize the development of India-centric, resource-efficient AI solutions that tackle real-world challenges and yield measurable societal benefits.
“AI serves as a dynamic enabler, allowing us to overcome traditional development hurdles and drive large-scale socio-economic change. Our strategy is inspired by the Honorable Prime Minister’s philosophy of inclusive growth, which is firmly rooted in the principles of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, aur Sabka Prayaas, placing 'AI for All' at its foundation," stated Kavita Bhatia, Scientist G and Group Coordinator of the AI & ET Division at MeitY.
