Mumbai, June 1 (NationPress) Mahindra and Mahindra announced a remarkable performance for May 2025, with total auto sales hitting 84,110 units—a 17% increase compared to May 2024.
This figure encompasses both domestic and international markets, emphasizing the company’s ongoing success across various product categories.
The SUV sector was pivotal in driving this growth, with Mahindra selling 52,431 SUVs in the domestic market in May, reflecting a robust 21% year-on-year (YoY) growth.
When including exports, total SUV sales achieved 54,819 units, underlining the demand for Mahindra’s utility vehicles both in India and overseas.
Year-to-date (YTD) figures further highlight Mahindra’s upward trajectory, with a 24% rise in UV sales, totaling 104,761 units, alongside a remarkable 55% increase in exports compared to the same timeframe last year.
Mahindra’s Automotive Division CEO, Nalinikanth Gollagunta, stated: "In May, we recorded SUV sales of 52,431 units, marking a 21% growth, and total vehicle sales of 84,110 units, which is a 17% growth compared to the same month last year."
He further remarked, "Our strong product demand enabled us to achieve industry-leading growth across our ICE and BEV portfolios."
Mahindra’s commercial vehicle segment also saw positive results, with Light Commercial Vehicle sales in the 2–3.5 tonne category increasing by 14% YoY to 17,718 units.
The three-wheeler segment, which includes electric models, experienced an 11% growth, reaching 6,635 units sold in May.
Exports played a crucial role as well, with Mahindra sending out 3,652 vehicles in May 2025, marking a significant 37% rise from the same month last year.
Mahindra’s diverse product lineup includes several internal combustion engine (ICE) models like the XUV 3XO, Bolero, Bolero Neo, Thar, Thar Roxx, XUV700, Scorpio Classic, and Scorpio-N.
