Key Takeaways
Bengaluru, Jan 13 (NationPress) Myntra, a prominent name in India's fashion, beauty, and lifestyle sectors, unveiled four new initiatives through its CSR and Sustainability division, Myntra Cares, on Tuesday. These initiatives focus on two main areas: mobility-enhanced livelihoods and education through MynVidya.
One highlighted initiative, Livelihoods on Wheels, is dedicated to fostering employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities by providing mobility support. Other MynVidya programs aim to reinforce educational pathways at various stages.
In collaboration with Alamba Charitable Trust, Livelihoods on Wheels aspires to create sustainable job opportunities for 20 mobility-impaired individuals. Each participant will receive NeoMotion mobility equipment valued at Rs 1,10,000 to facilitate independent movement. Beneficiaries, identified by the Trust, will work as delivery agents, gaining access to stable monthly incomes of Rs 25,000–30,000.
Rita Antony, Founder-President of Alamba Charitable Trust, expressed, “Mobility should never limit opportunity. With Myntra Cares, we equip differently-abled individuals with the tools and training needed for sustainable livelihoods, enabling them to earn independently and restore their confidence and dignity. This is a significant step towards true inclusivity.”
Myntra Cares remains committed to educational programs that support learners across different academic stages.
Myntra has teamed up with Links Educational and Charitable Trust to offer primary education to 90 children from migrant worker families who have faced historical exclusion from formal schooling. This initiative operates from a dedicated learning center near Myntra’s Bengaluru headquarters, assisting students through the National Open School System, which encompasses Levels 1, 2, and 3 (equivalent to Grades 3, 5, and 7).
Moreover, Myntra Cares is leading a school infrastructure overhaul at BKMS School, a government-aided institution located near Commercial Street, Bangalore, in collaboration with CommuniTree. The phased renovation, slated for completion between October 2025 and March 2026, involves upgrades to classrooms, sanitation facilities, lighting, wiring, and digital learning tools.
To facilitate access to higher education, Myntra Cares has partnered with Buddy4Study to offer scholarships to 175 students, including 75 from traditional artisan families and 100 from economically disadvantaged garment worker backgrounds. Eligible students will receive Rs 20,000 on a reimbursement basis and will be supported throughout three years of graduation in STEAM fields.
Govindraj MK, Chief Human Resources Officer at Myntra, stated, “Through Myntra Cares, we are responding to the unique needs of the community. We are enhancing livelihoods through mobility while continually investing in education via MynVidya. Collectively, these initiatives reflect our dedication to structured, long-term community engagement.”
Hafiz Khan, Founder of CommuniTree, commented on the school transformation effort, “The BKMS school project transcends infrastructure; it aims to foster a nurturing environment where children from underserved backgrounds can thrive, aspire, and grow. We are thrilled to partner with Myntra to revitalize this heritage building for its students’ brighter futures.”
Urvi Jariwala, Founder-Trustee of Links Educational and Charitable Trust, emphasized, “At Links Trust, we believe every child, irrespective of their background, deserves a fair opportunity for a brighter future. Children of migrant laborers often endure displacement and economic struggles, but through this collaboration with Myntra Cares, we are transforming hope into tangible opportunities. Together, we’re enabling 90 children to access quality education, offering them a pathway to dream, learn, and grow with dignity.”
Ashutosh Burnwal, Founder of Buddy4Study Foundation, remarked, “With our partnership with Myntra, we can reach deserving students from artisan and garment worker families who frequently lack financial means for higher education. By merging our operational framework with Myntra’s robust community networks, we aspire to empower the next generation with essential education and skills for success.”
These initiatives signify the expansion of Myntra’s voluntary CSR efforts, showcasing a comprehensive approach to community development. By uniting dedicated partners and prioritizing measurable impacts, Myntra aims to cultivate enduring changes that create avenues for education, skills, and sustainable livelihoods.
