Mumbai, Oct 8 (NationPress) Chairman of Adani Group, Gautam Adani, emphasized the successful completion of the Navi Mumbai Airport, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, as a significant milestone in India’s economic progress and a testament to Bharat’s aspirations.

“From conceptual designs to towering skylines, from aspirations to operational runways, today India rises to new heights with the inauguration of the Navi Mumbai International Airport,” Adani remarked on X.

He conveyed his heartfelt appreciation to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, and all involved Central and Maharashtra government officials for their unwavering support and collaboration.

“I extend my deepest gratitude to every construction worker, engineer, artisan, security personnel, partner, and team member whose commitment transformed our vision into reality. Together, we have crafted more than an airport. We have established a symbol of Bharat’s aspirations,” Adani remarked.

During his speech at the inauguration, Prime Minister Modi stated that the Navi Mumbai International Airport is a project that embodies the vision of Viksit Bharat.

“Constructed on the revered land of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, its architecture resembles a lotus flower. This new airport is poised to enhance both regional and global connectivity,” he noted.

He highlighted that Mumbai has now welcomed its second international airport, marking a pivotal step towards becoming Asia's leading connectivity hub.

“With this new airport, Maharashtra's farmers will have the opportunity to connect with supermarkets in Europe and the Middle East,” he added.

PM Modi further commented that the NMIA will alleviate congestion at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and significantly boost India's aviation capacity, thereby revolutionizing travel and connectivity in Mumbai and positioning the city as a global growth hub.

He also emphasized that the development of airports in smaller cities has made air travel more accessible for citizens.

“To make flying more affordable, the UDAN Yojana was implemented. Over the last decade, countless individuals have experienced air travel for the first time due to these initiatives. New airports and the UDAN Yojana have simplified air travel, establishing India as the world's third-largest domestic aviation market,” he pointed out.

He noted that thanks to the UDAN scheme, millions have taken their first flight and realized their dreams over the past ten years.
