According to the data, electronics exports saw a remarkable increase of 37 percent compared to $34.93 billion in the previous 12-month period of 2024.
Approximately two-thirds of the total exports, around $30 billion, were driven by smartphone shipments, bolstered by the government's production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme, which also reached a historic peak in 2025.
In December 2025, electronics exports hit $4.17 billion, a growth of 16.8 percent from $3.58 billion in December 2024.
Throughout 2025, electronics exports consistently exceeded the $4 billion threshold in seven out of twelve months, highlighting the persistent global demand for Indian-manufactured devices.
The export figures for smartphones in 2025 accounted for approximately 38 percent of the country’s smartphone exports over the last five years, as indicated by a recent report.
The data revealed that India's smartphone shipments abroad totaled nearly $79.03 billion from 2021 to 2025, with CY25 achieving the highest annual export figures recorded. Apple's iPhone shipments comprised around 75 percent of the total during this timeframe, valued at over $22 billion.
India's electronics exports are set to grow further, driven by the push for semiconductor manufacturing, as stated by Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
"The momentum will persist into 2026 as four semiconductor plants commence commercial production," he noted in a recent social media update.
Official estimates indicate that electronic production reached about Rs 11.3 crore in the 2024–25 period.

The smartphone PLI scheme is set to conclude in March 2026, although the government is reportedly considering extending support.
