Mumbai, Oct 8 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi envisions that financial inclusion should not merely focus on women's inclusion; it must emphasize women-led inclusion, according to Kalpana Ajayan, Regional Head for South Asia at Women's World Banking, during the Global Fintech Fest (GFF) 2025.
In an interview with IANS, Ajayan highlighted that women's financial inclusion is a core mission of the organization.
"That's a significant differentiator. Who should spearhead women's inclusion? It's essential that women lead their own inclusion journey," she remarked.
She expressed appreciation for the government's initiative in hosting an event like GFF, stating that financial inclusion encompasses a diverse range of players in the ecosystem.
"These can include banks, fintechs, insurance companies, and more. Platforms like the Global Fintech Fest provide excellent opportunities for collaboration among various stakeholders," Ajayan observed.
During the same event, Vikas Bansal, Director of Amazon Pay, shared that this marks the sixth edition of GFF, and he has witnessed its exponential growth each time.
"It's a pleasure to be here and feel the energy and enthusiasm that our FinTech community holds for the future," Bansal expressed.
He mentioned their commitment to offering customers a broad spectrum of payment solutions.
"We facilitate credit card transactions, Buy Now Pay Later options, wallet payments, and UPI. To enhance reliability and convenience, we've recently launched UPI biometric authorization, enabling users to transact using only their biometric data," Bansal noted.
Meanwhile, Rajdeep Gupta, Founder, Managing Director, and CEO of Root Mobile, expressed gratitude to PM Modi for his visionary Digital India initiative.
"India boasts the largest UPI platform globally. Other nations are now following our lead, which underscores India's growing significance in the global fintech arena. This trend is set to continue expanding in the near future," he added.
