Seoul, January 28 (NationPress) Samsung Electronics announced on Wednesday that its forthcoming Galaxy smartphone will incorporate an innovative privacy feature designed to safeguard on-screen information from prying eyes, eliminating the necessity for an external film cover.

The South Korean tech leader stated that this new capability will allow users to tailor the visibility of their display to thwart shoulder surfing, with the feature expected to be available on Galaxy devices soon.

Samsung Electronics is anticipated to host a launch event for the Galaxy S26 smartphone in February. According to sources, this new feature will be available for the Galaxy S26 Ultra, as reported by Yonhap news agency.

"With various settings to adjust visibility, users can control what others can see according to their privacy needs," the company mentioned in a statement.

Samsung noted that users have the ability to customize this feature based on different applications.

"Achieving this took over five years of engineering, testing, and refinement," the company shared. "We examined how individuals interact with their phones, what they deem private, and how security should integrate into daily life."

In other news, Samsung Electronics unveiled its Galaxy Z Flip 7 Olympic Edition, featuring enhancements aimed at enriching the experience for athletes during the upcoming Winter Olympics in Italy.

This device will be distributed to approximately 3,800 athletes from 90 countries participating in the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics and Paralympics, commencing on February 6, as stated by the South Korean tech giant.

The new Galaxy Z Flip edition showcases a design that captures the cultural essence of Italian azure and the spirit of unity and sportsmanship characteristic of the Olympic Games, according to the company.

"The custom gold metal frame symbolizes the athletes' quest for excellence and memorable moments on the podium, as well as our brand's commitment to achieving the highest standards," it added.

Athletes will benefit from a range of advanced features on the device to facilitate communication with fellow participants, including an interpretation app and the Galaxy Athlete Card, which enables easy profile sharing.

Additionally, Samsung Electronics will host a "Victory Selfie" event, where medalists will capture selfies on the podium.

Professional photographers will also utilize the Galaxy S25 Ultra smartphone during the event to photograph about 490 athletes who have consented.
