Mumbai, Nov 10 (NationPress) Vodafone Idea Ltd (Vi) has reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 5,524.2 crore for the second quarter of the ongoing financial year (Q2 FY26), according to an exchange disclosure made on Monday.
This loss shows an improvement compared to the Rs 7,175.9 crore loss recorded in the same quarter last year. Furthermore, the company's loss reduced sequentially from Rs 6,611.1 crore in the June quarter, indicating a gradual recovery in Vodafone Idea's operations.
As per the disclosure, the company's revenue from operations increased by 2.4 percent year-on-year (YoY) to Rs 11,194.7 crore for the quarter, up from Rs 10,932.2 crore in the corresponding period last year.
On a sequential basis, revenue also saw a rise of 1.5 percent.
The company reported an EBITDA of Rs 4,690 crore for the quarter, while cash EBITDA (excluding the impact of Ind AS 116) was Rs 2,250 crore, slightly down from Rs 2,320 crore in Q1 FY26.
Depreciation and amortization expenses amounted to Rs 5,570 crore, with net finance costs at Rs 4,680 crore. Excluding the impact of Ind AS 116, these figures were Rs 3,990 crore and Rs 3,600 crore, respectively, as noted in the filing.
CEO of Vodafone Idea Limited, Abhijit Kishore, stated, "We are making consistent progress towards our strategic goal of providing an exceptional customer experience. Our 4G coverage now reaches over 84 percent of the population, and we have completed the rollout of 5G across all 17 circles where we possess 5G spectrum. The 21 percent increase in data volume highlights our capability to retain and engage customers through our unique prepaid and postpaid offerings."
He further added, "We aim to raise our 4G coverage to 90 percent of the population and expand our 5G presence in regions with growing adoption of 5G handsets."
Meanwhile, shares of the telecom operator saw a decline on Monday, closing down 1.04 percent at Rs 9.51 on BSE.
