Mumbai, Dec 24 (NationPress) Actress Ameesha Patel recently shared insights about her upcoming film “Humraaz 2”, expressing her strong belief in the sequel's potential for success.

In an exclusive interview with IANS, the ‘Gadar’ star pointed out that the remarkable recall value of the original film has generated significant curiosity and enthusiasm among viewers. She noted that the enduring popularity of “Humraaz” serves as a robust foundation for the sequel, enhancing its prospects at the box office.

Ameesha stated, “I believe that more than myself, more than Bobby, and more than Akshay, this film has truly been developed with great effort. The sequel is already making a significant mark, so I am confident it will perform well, as the audience already has a fondness for it and is eager for its release. However, I think the producers are even more thrilled because their film stands out as the most celebrated in its franchise, which is fantastic.”

The original “Humraaz”, directed by the acclaimed duo Abbas–Mustan, featured Bobby Deol, Akshaye Khanna, and Ameesha Patel in leading roles. This romantic thriller marked the third partnership between Deol and the director duo. Loosely inspired by the 1998 American thriller A “Perfect Murder,” itself a remake of Alfred Hitchcock’s Dial M for Murder (1954), based on Frederick Knott’s 1952 stage play, “Humraaz” was later remade in Tamil as “Girivalam.” The film's soundtrack, crafted by Himesh Reshammiya, became one of the highest-selling Bollywood albums of that year. “Humraaz” premiered on July 5, 2002.

In July, fans expressed their anticipation for “Humraaz 2” when Ameesha Patel shared a nostalgic throwback image from over 20 years ago during the promotions for her 2002 film. The post, which included her co-stars Bobby Deol and Akshaye Khanna, fueled excitement and discussions about the sequel.
