Mumbai, Dec 2 (NationPress) Filmmaker Anees Bazmee expressed a sense of surrealism as his action-comedy film Gopi Kishan, featuring Sunil Shetty, marks its 31st anniversary since its release.
Bazmee crafted the story for Gopi Kishan, which has received overwhelming affection from audiences.
Sharing a poster from Mukesh Duggal's direction on his Instagram, Bazmee commented, "It feels surreal to look back today as Gopi Kishan completes 31 years. A film I had the honour of writing—a film that has garnered immense love, laughter, and affection from viewers nationwide.(sic)."
Expressing his gratitude to fans for keeping the film in their memories for over three decades, the creator of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 added, "Thank you to everyone who has kept this film alive for more than thirty years."
Featuring Sunil Shetty in dual roles, Gopi Kishan stars Shilpa Shirodkar and Karishma Kapoor as the leading ladies, alongside a supporting cast including Suresh Oberoi, Aruna Irani, Mohan Joshi, Shammi, Satyendra Kapoor, and Mushtaq Khan.
This film is a remake of K. Bhagyaraj's acclaimed Tamil movie Avasara Police 100.
The plot unfolds the lives of Gopi (played by Suniel Shetty), a police constable, and Kishan, his criminal doppelgänger who returns after 14 years in prison.
