Chennai, Dec 2 (NationPress) Actress Geetha Kailasam, who stars in the lead role of director Vipin Radhakrishnan's forthcoming film 'Angammal', emphasized the necessity of being fearlessly honest to truly embody her character. She described needing to surrender completely to her silence, pride, and heartbeat.

The film, set in a village in Tamil Nadu, delves into the conflict arising from a mother’s traditional clothing—a cultural identity that is worn without a blouse—when her son becomes anxious about family honor prior to a visit from his in-laws. This intimate tension evolves into a broader emotional exploration of autonomy, pride, and the enduring resilience of women whose lives are molded by tradition yet are steered by steadfast self-respect.

Produced by Stone Bench Films in collaboration with Njoy Films and Firo Movie Station, the film also showcases actors Saran Sakthi and Bharani, known for his work in Nadodigal.

According to sources close to the production team, Geetha Kailasam has given a performance that is deeply rooted in courage, grace, and the unexpressed beliefs of motherhood.

The actress also praised the sound and camera technicians, who worked diligently behind the scenes. "Performing with sync-sound meant capturing every breath and tremor as they occurred. 'Angammal', featuring a screenplay and direction by Vipin Radhakrishnan, is set to release on December 5 this year. The storyline draws inspiration from a short story by Perumal Murugan. The film is produced by Kaarthekeyen S, Firoz Rahim, and Anjoy Samuel, with co-production by Shamsudeen Khalid and Anu Abraham. It is shot by Anjoy Samuel and includes music and an original score by Mohammed Maqbool Mansoor.
