Mumbai, Sep 29 (NationPress) Actress Ankita Lokhande expressed that “Acting will always remain my first love” as she ventures into a new role as a producer.
Ankita has taken a significant step by becoming a producer, adding this new title to her achievements. The 'Pavitra Rishta' star is launching her production journey under her own banner, Legend Studios, in collaboration with Sandeep Singh and Vicky Jain.
When asked if this new challenge would mean stepping away from acting, Ankita remarked, “Acting will always remain my first love, but producing is my way of giving back.”
For her, producing is not a substitute for acting but rather an expansion of her creative career.
“My first lead role film came from Sandeep, and now he has also guided me in my inaugural venture as a producer. With Vicky by my side, it feels like everything has come full circle,” Ankita elaborated.
Nevertheless, Ankita does not underestimate the task of reviving a classic film like “Chandni Bar”.
She stated, “It’s a huge responsibility to recreate the magic of such an iconic film. However, with Legend Studios, I am confident we will make it truly remarkable.”
Ankita perceives producing as a means of continuing a legacy, generating new opportunities, and giving back to the industry that shaped her.
Directed by Madhur Bhandarkar, “Chandni Bar” features Tabu and Atul Kulkarni in lead roles, alongside Ananya Khare, Rajpal Yadav, Minakshi Sahani, and Vishal Thakkar in supporting roles.
The narrative revolves around a poignant tale of the Mumbai underworld, prostitution, dance bars, and gun violence.
Released on September 28, 2001, “Chandni Bar” achieved both box office success and critical acclaim.
Meanwhile, Ankita's husband, businessman Vicky Jain, is poised to make his Bollywood debut with “Haq”, sharing the screen with Yami Gautam and Emraan Hashmi.
