The actress took to her Instagram, sharing an official statement from the IPL team RCB, which celebrated bringing home the IPL trophy this year.

The IPL trophy's arrival in Anushka Sharma's hometown sparked excitement in the streets. Her husband, renowned cricketer Virat Kohli, who has been a part of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru since the inaugural IPL season, wrote a heartfelt message for his wife.

The tragic stampede occurred amid the team's celebratory events.

The statement expressed, "We are profoundly saddened by the distressing incidents reported regarding public gatherings throughout Bengaluru as fans awaited the team's arrival this afternoon. The safety and well-being of everyone is our top priority."

Sharing a photo of them at the electrifying IPL 2025 final held at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, he expressed, “I’ve witnessed it for 18 years, and she’s been there for 11. We've experienced the highs and lows together since 2014, celebrating every close win and the enthusiasm of our supporters at Chinnaswamy. This moment is especially meaningful for her as a Bangalore native. Together, we stand through it all @anushkasharma (sic).”
