Tamil actor Arun Vijay penned a heartfelt tribute to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay on 23 July, the day Vijay's much-anticipated final film 'Jana Nayagan' opened in theatres across the country. In his post, Arun Vijay recalled how Vijay's words of encouragement during a difficult period in his career had fundamentally changed his outlook and sense of purpose.

Arun Vijay's Message to Thalapathy

Taking to his social media timelines, Arun Vijay addressed Vijay as a colleague, an elder brother, and a leader. He wrote: 'To the person I admire as a colleague, an elder brother and a leader... with happy tears and a proud heart, (I am) ready to witness the #onelastdance of our #Thalapathy Vijay anna!!'

He added: 'You have always inspired us through your work and setting a benchmark in the industry. I can never forget your words of encouragement when I was in my low phase, it changed my entire perspective & purpose. Thank you anna... We will miss you here, but happy that you have taken a bigger role now in serving people. Sure you will give your 100% as you always have. We stand by you. Love you loads!!'

Mahat Raghavendra Also Speaks Out

Actor Mahat Raghavendra, who shared screen space with Vijay as his younger brother in the film 'Jilla', also penned an emotional note — this time on his Instagram page. He described growing up watching Vijay's films and called every theatrical release 'a celebration.'

'Many films will be made. But no one can ever replace you. The magic of watching a Thalapathy film on the big screen is something I will miss forever,' Mahat wrote, addressing Vijay as 'the one and only Ilaya Thalapathy.'

Directed by H Vinoth, 'Jana Nayagan' marks Vijay's farewell to acting as he transitions to a full-time political career as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister. The film was originally slated for a Pongal release in January 2025 but faced a significant delay after it was referred to a Revising Committee under Rule 24 of the Cinematograph (Certification) Rules following its submission to the Censor Board in December 2024. The board cleared the film only recently, paving the way for its 23 July release.
