Mumbai, Sep 29 (NationPress) As India celebrated a five-wicket victory against fierce rivals Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025, renowned actor Amitabh Bachchan humorously took a jab at former Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar for mistakenly mixing up the name of cricketer Abhishek Sharma with that of the Bollywood star.

The legendary actor cheekily remarked about Pakistan's defeat, stating, “bolti band”.

In a light-hearted tweet on X, he shared: “Jeet gaye!! .. well played 'Abhishek Bachchan' .. udhar zubaan ladkhadai, aur idhar, bina batting bowling fielding kiye, ladkhada diya dushman ko!! Bolti band” (We won!! Well played, Abhishek Bachchan… On one side, the tongue stumbled, and on the other, without batting, bowling, or fielding, we made the opponent falter!! Silence reigns.)

The entire country erupted in celebration on Sunday night as Team India triumphed over Pakistan, lifting the Asia Cup 2025 for the ninth time in this continental competition.

The final match, held at the Dubai International Stadium, lived up to the fierce India-Pakistan rivalry.

Pakistan started off strong, reaching 113/1 in just 12.4 overs, thanks to half-centuries from Sahibzada Farhan (57) and Fakhar Zaman (46). However, India's bowlers, spearheaded by Kuldeep Yadav with his remarkable four-wicket haul, caused a stunning collapse, with nine wickets falling for a mere 33 runs, and restricted Pakistan to 146 runs in 19.1 overs.

The mix-up between cricketer Abhishek Sharma and actor Abhishek Bachchan originated during Shoaib's analysis of Pakistan's prospects in the Asia Cup final on his talk show Game On Hai.

He mistakenly referenced Abhishek Bachchan, suggesting that if Pakistan could dismiss him early, it would impact their middle-order, which has struggled.

In response, actor Abhishek Bachchan humorously replied: “Sir, with all due respect… don’t think they’ll even manage that! And I’m not even good at playing cricket.”
