Mumbai, Feb 7 (NationPress) After spending 14 years abroad, actress Celina Jaitly has finally returned to Mumbai for professional engagements.

Famed for her performances in movies such as No Entry and Apna Sapna Money Money, the actress is back in the city to embark on exciting new projects, heralding a thrilling chapter in her career. On Friday, Celina shared a snapshot on her Instagram showcasing her in a chic black top paired with blue ripped jeans.

In her caption, she humorously commented on the peculiar change in accents many Indians undergo during brief trips abroad. Reflecting on her travels to Singapore, Dubai, and Europe, Celina joked about how some fellow Indians return from a short holiday with an exaggerated accent, as if they have spent several years at Oxford or New York.

The actress noted, “#expatwoman English Babu Desi Mem: 14 years abroad returning to aamchimumbai solely for work… It’s amusing how many desis come back from a four-day vacation with a complete accent—like they’ve been at Oxford or relaxing in New York. Even after being an expat woman for the last 14 years in Singapore, Dubai, and Europe, my English accent remains the same!”

Celina added, “In fact, speaking German as my primary language in Austria has only deteriorated my English. Now, upon returning to Mumbai, I hear my friends sounding like English news anchors, and I can’t help but wonder—where did I miss the mark? Clearly, my journey to a sophisticated accent didn’t go as planned… instead, I stumbled over grammar and landed in the realm of What-did-you-just-say?”

Celina Jaitly was last seen in Ram Kamal Mukherjee's short film “Seasons Greetings”, which premiered in 2020. This Zee5 film also starred Lillette Dubey.

Her filmography includes roles in “Thank You” and “Golmaal Returns”.
