Mumbai, Jan 1 (NationPress) The dawn of 2026 has ushered in a wave of nostalgia for Bollywood enthusiasts, with the reunion of two stars from the beloved film Chak De! India.

Sagarika Ghatge and Vidya Malvade came together to ring in the new year in Jaisalmer. The two actresses shared a delightful photograph on social media, showcasing their joyous celebration alongside family and friends.

The image features the pair beaming with happiness, hand-in-hand with their loved ones. Notable figures in the picture include actress Kritika Kamra, cricketer and Sagarika’s husband Zaheer Khan, who can be seen cradling their baby, while Sagarika gazes into the camera.

The Chak De stars, known for their impactful performances in the 2007 sports film, appeared to cherish a joyous moment together as they welcomed 2026 on the last day of 2025.

In terms of the film's plot, Chak De! India follows a hockey coach who transforms a disheartened and fragmented team of women hockey players into international champions. Directed by Shimit Amin and produced by Aditya Chopra, it featured Shah Rukh Khan in the leading role of Kabir Khan, the coach of the Indian women’s hockey team.

The film also boasted a talented ensemble cast, including Chitrashi Rawat, Tanya Abrol, Shilpa Shukla, Anaitha Nair, Shubhi Mehta, Sandia Furtado, Arya Menon, Masochon Zimik, and Kimi Laldawla. Sagarika portrayed Preeti Sabharwal, while Vidya took on the role of Vidya Sharma, the team captain.

Since its release in 2007, the film has achieved remarkable success at the box office.
