Hyderabad, Oct 27 (NationPress) - The cybercrime division of Hyderabad has initiated an investigation after the renowned Tollywood icon and former Union Minister Konidela Chiranjeevi filed a police complaint against certain websites disseminating AI-manipulated and altered pornographic videos that exploit his likeness and identity.

The police have lodged a case under various provisions, including Sections 67 and 67A of the IT Act, as well as Sections 79, 294, 296, and 336(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Sections 2(c), 3, and 4 of the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986.

Chiranjeevi, who recently secured an ad-interim injunction from the City Civil Court to shield his identity from unauthorized misuse, provided detailed information about the websites that are disseminating the AI-generated and altered pornographic material.

He reported that these platforms have published and are distributing videos that misrepresent him in explicit sexual scenarios, featuring a person named ‘Meenakshi’ among others.

“These videos are completely fabricated and created using artificial intelligence, commonly known as deepfake pornography, which unlawfully manipulates and morphs my facial features and persona into indecent content,” Chiranjeevi asserted.

The actor has called for an immediate criminal and technical investigation against the implicated websites and any individuals or entities involved in the creation, distribution, and hosting of these AI-generated pornographic materials. He also urged for the prompt blocking, removal, and takedown of all such content from the web.

As a respected film artist and public figure, Chiranjeevi emphasized his contributions to cinema and society through philanthropic efforts.

He noted that his films often embody themes of integrity, compassion, and resilience, which have solidified his reputation as one of the most esteemed personalities in the film industry. “Beyond my cinematic career, I have dedicated substantial time and resources to charitable initiatives, founding organizations and supporting causes like healthcare, education, blood donation, and disaster relief, long before such social service endeavors became widely recognized. Over the decades, through relentless effort and unwavering integrity, I have built a reputation for dignity and moral rectitude, both as an artist and as a citizen,” he remarked.

The megastar expressed in his complaint that the AI-generated and deepfake pornographic videos being circulated are inflicting serious and irreversible damage to his hard-earned reputation. He stated that these fabricated videos are being maliciously used to portray him in obscene and vulgar contexts, thus distorting public perception and undermining years of goodwill.

Chiranjeevi asserted that these actions are a blatant and intentional violation of his rights to privacy, reputation, and dignity, as protected by Article 21 of the Constitution of India, and they constitute serious offenses under the Information Technology Act, particularly Sections 66E, 67, 67A, and 67B of the Indian Penal Code and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita as applicable.

He further informed the authorities that the dissemination of these videos is part of a larger pattern of organized and malicious behavior among the implicated websites.

“The unrestricted public access to these videos exacerbates the severity of the offense and necessitates immediate action for blocking, removal, and digital forensic tracing of those responsible for generating, uploading, and circulating this content,” he added.
